The Lake District
The Lake District has always drawn visitors to its unique landscape of wild high places, tranquil waters and characterful towns. With your own home at the heart of it all, you too can discover your very own Lake District.
At both of our luxury caravan parks set within the glorious Holker Estate, you can immerse yourself in Lake District life throughout the seasons, from farmers markets and country shows, to sailing and fine dining, all the adventures of Lakeland are right on your doorstep. Residents of Holker Estate Holiday Parks also enjoy discount privileges at nearby Holker Hall & Gardens, and Cartmel Racecourse.
Locally to Old Park Wood Caravan Park and Longlands Caravan Park is the famous Lake Windermere, plus Coniston Water and the southern peaks, as well as vast stretches of beautiful unspoilt Cumbrian coastline. It really is the perfect location for a Lake District Holiday home. There is something for everyone, it’s not all challenging peaks and 20 mile hikes, close-by attractions such as Grizedale Forest or Tarn How’s are ideal for a gentle stroll or family picnic.
If you enjoy a spot of retail therapy, you’ll find some unique shops in the local towns of Ulverston, Cartmel and Grange-Over-Sands, offering everything from local crafts to artisan produce. From your luxury Lake District caravan park you will quickly discover marvellous local food and drink too, in cosy village pubs, bistros and fine restaurants.
Best of all, you can take your time to enjoy all that there is to offer, as owning your own Lakeland Holiday Home on the Holker Estate means it’s all yours to enjoy time and time again.
Holker Estate
The Holker Estate covers some 17,000 acres of rural Cumbria encompassing a major proportion of the Cartmel Peninsula. The Estate has a long tradition of farming through the craftsmanship of tenant farmers who produce cheese, honey, prime Shorthorn Beef, seasonal Venison and game, and the famous Holker Saltmarsh Lamb.
Holker Hall sits at the heart of the Estate amongst 25 acres of gardens, meadows and deer park, and is the much loved home of Lord and Lady Cavendish. They both take an active interest in protecting the wildlife in the area and maintaining the conservation of the woodlands and parkland.
