This spring Simply Red are going to be performing a concert at a local outdoor venue, Cartmel Races. The concert will take place after the races on Saturday May 28 2016 and it will be the first major post-racing concert ever staged at the Cumbrian track.  The band are acclaimed worldwide for hits including For Your Babies, Stars, If You Don’t Know Me By Now, Holding Back the Years and Fairground.

The announcement comes as it is revealed that music promoters Cuffe and Taylor have formed a partnership with Cartmel Racecourse to produce a weekend of live music. In addition to Simply Red on May 28, Jools Holland and his band will be playing on Sunday May 29.

Peter Taylor, Director of promoters Cuffe and Taylor is delighted to be able to bring them to Cartmel. He said: “We have long been impressed by the popularity of Cartmel Racecourse and it is with absolute pleasure that we are now in a position to announce that we are working with them.

“This is very exciting for everyone involved.  We are looking forward to working with the racecourse team and a wide range of Cumbrian suppliers to put together a professional and popular event which will include music from Simply Red in May.”

Tickets for the event, including both the racing and the concert, are available through www.ticketline.co.uk and cost £32.50; ticketline booking fees (per ticket) apply.

Tickets are also available through the racecourse website, at £32.50, where a booking fee of £2.50 per transaction will apply.

The racecourse offers camping facilities for all racedays, including the concert event, although these can not be booked until 15th February. All camping bookings must be made in person or by telephone to the racecourse office in advance of the event. The number of camping spaces is limited and early booking is advised.
