"I just love the long drive down the tree lined road to the site, it feels like I'm leaving all my worries behind. The location is fantastic with great walks and stunning views. My family love it here, especially the dog! "

Residents enjoy Halloween-themed End of Season Fun Day

The annual Fun Day once again raised money for two local charities, St Mary’s Hospice and Guide Dogs for the Blind through a prize raffle and cake sale totalling £300.

Despite being a truly autumnal damp and windy day, lots of residents turned out in force to enjoy home-cooked barbecue food and cakes and to sample the local ales made at Unsworths Yard Brewery.  There were many entries in the ‘Mini Duathlon’ organised by the local scouts as well as over twenty entries in the annual photography competition, won by Mr Shannon from OPW.

Little ones were kept entertained by rides on very well behaved ponies from Bigland Hall, in between the face-painting studio and magic shows. Werewolves, witches, ghosts and devils were just some of the creative Halloween costumes worn by the children who entered the fancy dress competition. There was also a record number of elaborate and imaginative designs entered in this year’s carved pumpkin contest.  Well done to all who entered!

We would like to thank all local businesses involved for their kind support and of course our residents for making the day such a success.
