Fundraising Success for OPW Defibrillator

One of our residents at OPW recently ran the Windermere Marathon on 21st May to raise money for an on-site defibrillator at OPW.

Mr Burton ran an awesome time of 4hrs 15 mins which is some achievement given that the Windermere Marathon is one of the toughest in the country due to its hilly route! He has thanked the OPW community for their support and sponsorship for a good cause, and was touched by the level of community spirit at the park.

The grand total raised so far on May 31st is £656.47 which includes Mr Burton's online fundraising pages, his school cake sale, the proceeds from the OPW collection jar and those from the Cartmel Race tickets raffle.

We hope to have the equipment sourced and on its way in the near future to help to protect residents, staff and visitors at our park. We obviously hope that we will never need to use one but having a defibrillator on site will maximise the changes of resuscitation during an emergency.
